Kerala is situated in the tropical Malabar Coast of Southern India. The state has distinction of having the highest literacy rate in comparison to the other state of India. Kozhikode (Calicut) : Historically important, Vasco da Gama first landed in India, at Kappad near Kozhikode in 1498 AD. Pookot Lake, Ettumanoor Temple, Pazhassi Raja Museum are some of the famous tourist destinations of this place.
